Pleated Playsuit

I picked this free pattern up over at Elegance & Elephants and it is absolutely to die for. It is surprisingly easy to construct and her instructions are very clear! This pattern fits size 12 mos to 9 years. For the 4t size we needed about 1 yard of primary fabric and .5 yard of lining/pocket fabric. Click here for her original post and to print your own.
I first tested it out on some fabric I picked up at a thrift store (…left over from when I made Little One a tent. It’s acceptable to have an outfit that matches your tent when you are 3 right?), and then I let LO pick out her own fabric for Valentines day which just screams “Girls Just Wanna Have Fun.” It’s love all the way around! Happy Sewing!

Mini Boden Knockoff Jacket

I’m just the best, most consistent blogger ever [see last post date].

Having a little girl is fun because there are a LOT of little girl projects to sew up. For my most recent project, I whipped up slaved over this Mini Boden knockoff.
Sure, my buttons are a little small, and it’s much too big on her, but I’m happy with how it turned out. Plus, we get to wear it for another year…bonus! I also added a little length in the back because I do what I want.
If you would like to attempt this project, you can find the tutorial here on an older post at She does an excellent job of explaining how to draft your own pattern, but definitely do yourself a favor and buy pre-quilted fabric so you can cut your sewing time down by, like, 75%.

Family Portraits

Finally finished and hung our family portraits, now I just have to complete the paintings of our puppies! Excuse the wall color, it’s trying to hard to be neutral, but it’s just not

Book Cabinet with Children’s Characters

Found this shoe cabinet near a dumpster, the bottom was damaged, but the drawers were still intact and working! I cut off the bottom drawer, sanded it, and added some paint. Perfect for storing books!
